Tim Schmit is at the Advanced Satellite Products Branch within NOAA's NESDIS Center for SaTellite Applications and Research (STAR) located in Madison, Wisconsin. Tim has played a key science role during the on-obit check-outs of GOES-8 through -15 and GOES-16. He also led the center point requests for the GOES-14 special 1-min rapid scans. Tim is the chair of two GOES-R series Algorithm Working Group (AWG) teams: imagery and soundings. Tim's direct role with GOES-R began in 1999 and has been a key player since.
