Dust Storms
Dust storms are not normally observed on weather radar
because the particles are too small to appreciably scatter radiation at
wavelengths of a few centimetres. However, since a dust storm is
frequently associated with a thunderstorm or squall line, the presence
of the storm or line echo should be taken as an indicator of a dust
storm when the echo is over dry inland areas.
