Gravity Waves
On the evening of September 16, 2005, thunderstorms formed across northern North Dakota.
Ahead of these thunderstorms an outflow boundary was eventually produced. As
it moved eastward, radar revealed gravity waves formed by the movement
of this stable air. The animations of this phenomenon are
presented here.
