- Huge wild fire flashed up suddenly from an unremarkable fire.
- Atmospheric stability nearly neutral.
- Echoes reached 3 km ASL.
Trails below the plume suggest large particles sedimenting out.
- Plume seen on radar does not extend nearly as far.
- Overshooting + radar doesn't see fine smoke.
- Cloud cover would hide plume from satellite.
- Note cross-section below. Radar echoes do extend to 3km. Also note the variability along cross section.
