Doppler signature
You can see an example of a passage of a warm front at a Doppler radar display. There is no clear indication of a front in the VAD time series, neither at the ground nor in the higher altitudes. From the lower right hand image you can see a passage of a warm front (WF) and the corresponding Doppler velocity display. Note the area of stratiform rain in yellow.
