Dave Patrick
David Patrick is a Research Development Meteorologist with the Hydrometeorological and Arctic Lab (HAL) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated with an M.Sc. in Meteorology from the University of Toronto in 1978 and then joined Environment Canada. He has forecasting experience in Pacific, Ontario, and Prairie and Northern Regions. In 1990 he became a full-time development meteorologist. Over the years he has developed software to improve the analysis, visualization and manipulation of weather information in the forecast office. He was the lead developer of the national weather bulletin preparation system (Bullprep) and made extensive enhancements to the national weather information dissemination system (Avipads). Currently his main focus is on improving the use of radar data in the forecast offices. He has recently made many additions to the radar processing software, and is working towards bringing them into the national Universal Radar Processing and NinJo systems.
