James Cummine

James Cummine is currently a Program Supervisor in the Prairie and Arctic Storm Prediction Centre in Winnipeg. I have been with MSC for nearly 25 years since beginning my career as a summer severe weather assistant in the summer of 1985. I worked in the Alberta Weather Center in Edmonton from 1986 to 1988 then moved to the Prairie Weather Centre (PrWC) in 1988. I have been in Winnipeg ever since, though in Winnipeg, I worked in the PrWC, Manitoba Environmental Service Centre (MEnSC), Prairie Storm Prediction Centre (PSPC) and Atmospheric and Hydrologic Sciences Division (AHSD - 1993 to 2002). I have over 15 years of Operational forecasting experience and have been a lead forecaster since 1989.  I was also the MSC/COMET Liaison Meteorologist 2005 to 2008 and was facilitator of the MSC Winter Weather Course and the Mountain Weather Course in Boulder during that time. I am also one of the MSC forecasters chosen to forecast at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver/Whistler, BC.
