Matt Albers

I graduated from the University of Alberta in December of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree with specialization in Atmospheric Sciences. I worked as a Meteorological Technician with Environment Canada beginning in May of 2006 where I spent my time between Stony Plain, Alberta and Alert, Nunavut until I started the Meteorological Operational Internship Program with Environment Canada in the Fall of 2007. Upon completion of the training program in the spring of 2008 I was assigned to the Prairie and Arctic Storm Prediction Centre in Edmonton. My experiences as a meteorologist have led me to doing a case study on a rare blizzard event in the Mackenzie Delta that occurred in December of 2008.
I spent my life growing up in the Edmonton region. My hobbies include golf, hockey, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and camping.
