Monica Vargas
I'm Monica Vargas, I did my degree on Meteorology, Oceanography and Geophysics at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon, where I'm currently doing a MSc in Geophysical Sciences.
I started working at the Institute of Meteorology (IM) in 2005 on the Marine Meteorology area, on numerical ocean forecast models, marine climatology and I also did some work on marine remote sensing on oil spill detection using CASI images. Since last November, I've been working at the Weather Forecasting Centre. One of my interests has been always remote sensing, so I'm looking forward for the commencement of this course.
