Stu Mackay

I joined the then Atmospheric Environment Service (AES) in 1989 after graduating from University of Saskatchewan with a general science degree. I worked as a surface/upper air observer both in the high arctic and the prairies until 1996. I completed a post graduate diploma in meteorology from the University of Alberta in 1995. In 1997, I was posted to the Weather centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1998, the service was rationalized and I moved to Edmonton and joined the Arctic Weather Centre. When the aviation and public programs were split, I initially worked for the aviation center for 2 to 3 years but have since moved to the PASPC-Edmonton to work as a lead meteorologist.

My main interest outside of the office would be sports, both watching my boys (14 and 11 years of age) and playing myself.
