Think of PBL issues for your region today.

Tomorrow we would like you to get together in two small groups to discuss and combine ideas for a regional PBL exercise . Helen and Hélène will form the East Group and the Guys, the West Group. We have assigned a time for each group to use the conference call to discuss your ideas and make a short presentation (up to 25 minutes). Helen and Helen will have conference time from 8:00am to 8:30am(PST) where they will discuss the PBL interactions that affect the weather in the Ontario and Quebec regions. Between 8:30am and 9:00am PST Randy, Paul and Jesse will get together on the conference call to discuss between themselves the PBL interactions in the BC and Alberta regions. Then at 9:30 on Tuesday we will all join in and one person from each group will present a summary.

To kick things off, some examples of regional PBL interactions could be due to proximity to large bodies of water or interactions with mountain terrain or valleys. There may be diurnal or seasonal factors related to day length, or effects from evapotranspiration. We will likely find PBL interactions that are common to these regions and we may find some that are unique.
