1. Using the EC Online Canadian Climate Normals, determine the following for one location in your forecast area for the months April through September inclusive:

  • Ave monthly precipitation
  • Days with >5mm
  • Extreme max temperature and year
  • Average wind speed
  • Most frequent wind direction
  • Maximum Hourly wind
  • Direction of maximum mind
  • Average RH at 1500 LST

 2. Calculate the total yearly precipitation at this site and the percentage of the yearly total that occurs in June, July, and August.

 3. Determine the maximum BUI reading reached at this site (through your memory or ask someone in your office).

 4. Results should be tabulated and transferred to a memory stick or CD for presentation to the class.

 5. Students should also be prepared to discuss the general climatology of the region and the driving topographic features.
